Lesson Goals
I'd like to feel confident again! I'd also like to make a bit of a plan about what we're going to focus on in future lessons
What am I proud of?

-
I'm really proud of how my lesson went, I didn't know what to expect but now I feel really positive!
-
I'm proud of how I used my clutch on a hill. I feel much more in control and now I can move away quicker
-
I feel far more confident
-
I'm really pleased with how quickly I got used to the car!
What would I like to improve on?
-
Sometimes I struggle with deciding what gear to go into when approaching traffic lights, I'd really like to master that.
-
I'd like to work on my mirrors, sometimes I stare in them, as opposed to taking a quick glance which can effect other parts of my driving. I'd like to learn to trust my brain to process the things I see in a quick glance.
Our plan for next lesson
I'd like to focus on mastering my gears on the approach to traffic lights
What can I do before my next lesson to help my learning?
We've discussed your learning style and established that you're more of an audio learner. I'd recommend going for a drive with your partner and asking him to talk you through what gear he's using and why. Once you're used to that and you're happy with your knowledge I'd recommend passing the responsibility over to you and you telling him what gear to go into and why. This will help improve your knowledge of the correct gear for the road conditions and get you used to making that choice. This will help you hugely in your next lesson.
Date: 11/07/2021
Lesson Goals
I'd like to work on my gear at traffic lights. I feel like I've developed the knowledge and I'd like to work on putting it into practice
I'd like to work on getting my car into waiting spaces when meeting oncoming traffic
What am I proud of?

-
I'm really proud of my gears at traffic lights
-
My clutch control was fab
-
I worked really hard on learning how to use my brake without pressing my clutch, this went really well
-
I'm now selecting 2nd gear much later which means my driving is smoother
-
My control emerging from tight junctions hugely improved
What would I like to improve on?
-
I'd like to do some more work on driving tight corners when meeting traffic
-
I'd like to improve on how I drive narrow roads when other cars are around.
Our plan for next lesson
My 2 main goals are manoeuvres and driving narrow roads.
I'd like to prioritise my manoeuvres next lesson and work on narrower roads in the future.
What can I do before my next lesson to help my learning?
As we're going to be looking at parallel parking next lesson I'd recommend watching your partner parking, when you're in the passenger side. I'd use the auto car and look at which way he's steering, how much and when. You could also ask him to talk you through what he's doing and when. I think this will really help you next lesson when we look at it.
Date: 19/07/2021
Lesson Goals
I'd like to work on parallel parking. I'd like to feel comfortable that I know what I'm doing without using reference points.
I'd like to be able to complete and independent parallel park by the end of my lesson.

-
I'm really proud of my parallel park. I was so please that I was able to complete one independently at the end of my lesson.
-
I now know which way to turn the wheel when parking
-
I feel much more confident parking
-
I feel more confident driving in general
What would I like to improve on?
-
I'd like to do some more work on parking to help me embed the skill
Our plan for next lesson
I'd like to do some more work on manoeuvres. I'd like to practice my parallel park and also look at my bay parking and pull up on the right.
What can I do before my next lesson to help my learning?
Whilst your family car is automatic you could still practice your parallel park in it provided you're insured to do so. This will help you understand which way you need to turn the wheel, when and why. Your foot control of the car is good. Practicing in the family car will improve your steering knowledge.
Date: 26/07/2021
Lesson Goals
I'd like to work on parallel parking. I'd currently rate it as a 6/10 and I'd like to improve to an 8/10 by the end of the lesson. I'll do this by not overthinking and believing in myself.
I'd also like to look at the pull up on the right manoeuvre
What am I proud of?

-
I'm really proud of my parallel park. I understand when to steer now which has made it far more accurate. It's more subconscious & I believed in myself more, I'd now rate it as a 6.5/10
-
My pull up on the right was great, it was accurate and I managed to include all round observations. I'd rate it as a 8/10

I identified the correct side of the road on a complex junction and made sure I drove down that entrance!
-
My use of my clutch, accelerator and gears were great.
What would I like to improve on?
-
I'd like to do some more work on my parallel park and pull up on the right manoeuvre
Our plan for next lesson
Next lesson I'd like to focus on looking at narrower roads, with parked cars that are similar to the roads I'll need to drive on my test

Our plan for next lesson
Next lesson I'd like to continue to focus on my driving around town and the test centre
What can I do before my next lesson to help my learning?
I'd recommend having a think about when you need second gear, where and why. You could use google and YouTube to research this subject. The greater your understanding the easier you'll find putting it into practice. You could also as other drivers in your family when they change and why.

Date: 05/10/2021
The independent drive you did before your test was great!
Mock Test Results
The following are your serious faults: 3
-
When you changed gear on a 50mph speed limit road you looked at the gear stick, this caused your road position to drift into oncoming traffic
-
You stopped on a green traffic light
-
You exceeded the speed limit coming down Evesham Rd
Your driver faults: 6

-
Your road position was incorrect on 3 occasions
-
You forgot your left indicator on the RC roundabout
-
You rolled back when moving off in stationary traffic
-
You switched too early to 2nd which caused your car to excessively slow down
Our plan for next lesson

What can I do before my next lesson to help my learning?
You need to make sure your read through and revise the show me questions. I'd also recommend having a look at the under the bonnet photo before your next lesson. You can find links to both of these on the front page of the learners area.
